The philosophy of the Jamaica N.A.A.C.P. Day Care Center advocates that children learn by doing and all children, regardless of race, creed, color or ethnic background deserve respect and an opportunity to achieve to the fullest extent of their potential. Our Prekindergarten students learn by actively exploring their environment. Preschool and Kindergarten students are provided with varied experiences to support the continuum of student’s growth and development of the whole child, both physical and social. Students diversity is respected and valued. Both the Jamaica N.A.A.C.P. Day Care Center, Inc. and the parents believe that a planned, organized, consistently implemented curriculum supports child development and education for children of all ages. In addition, our curriculum aligns our Prekindergarten programs with the New York City Department of Education Standards for Universal Prekindergarten. Jamaica N.A.A.C.P. Day Care Center is arranged to stimulate learning across all domains of development, namely the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of each child. Each child is unique and is treated as an individual. All children are provided with a safe, and clean environment that helps them to acquire the skills to gain confidence and succeed in school and later in life.Young children view the world concretely. As they mature their view changes. Our curriculum is designed to give children many first hand concrete experiences. Our preschool children supplement what they learned through these early experiences. Our quality program provides a challenging, but achievable curriculum, engages children to think, reason, and communicate with others. With teacher direction and guidance, children respond to the challenge and acquire important skills and concepts.
